ANS submits Forest Conservation Regulations Testimony

On June 23, 2020 – ANS submitted written testimony to the Montgomery County Planning Board before the June 25th, 2020 hearing on the proposed Amended Forest Conservation Regulations. Overall, ANS supports the proposed amendments. ANS supports the 2 to 5-year tree maintenance extension and the increase protection the biodiversity of trees around the county. ANS also proposed  additional modifications such as moving the Forest Conservation Law to a zero loss of forest goal, to modify a loophole that subdivisions could prevent developers from submitting a forest conservation plan, and to increase funds to the Reforest Montgomery program to fund on the ground work to enforce the law.
